Flexibility
I try to remain as open and flexible as possible when working on a commissioned piece for someone. Since I have expertise in architecture, it is very easy for me to pick up the general intent or design of a particular space. I can work from architectural drawings and specifications. If you have specific colors, textures, fabrics or forms in mind, and I will do my best to incorporate them into the painting. Also, it is very helpful to see the space the final piece will hang. I can consult with you and provide loose sketches before paint is laid to canvas.
Approach One
Take a look at the web site and select a painting. Purchase an original.
Approach Two
Set an appointment and I will come and consult with you. We can talk about your likes and dislikes. Show me the space that you would like to fill with a piece of art. I can take pictures of furnishings, you may provide color chips and or materials. I can create some loose conceptual sketches for your review. Once we agree on a basic concept I will create a piece that suits the loose concept we agreed upon. Since most of what I create is in the moment there will be subtle changes in colors and context.
Approach Three
I can create around a central concept or theme. I like flowers, architectural designs or free form shapes. There are some subjects I will not do because they don't fit into my main body of work. When working in this fashion, usually there is more than one piece involved.
Size & Colors
I generally do not work any smaller than 16" x 20". I will work up to any size that is required.
