Experienced
B a c k g r o u n d
I was an Architectural Illustrator for 14 years in central NY. During that period I provided illustration services for architects, developers, and designers. My expertise ranged from very loose sketches to full architectural paintings.
In the late 1980's I acquired a computer to provide computer generated walk throughs of specific buildings and spaces. Along with operating my Architectural Illustration practice, I also taught part-time at Syracuse University for 13 years. I was an Adjunct Professor for the Department of Design in the College of Visual and Performing Arts. There I taught sophomores perspective and illustration techniques for interior design. This course was a very intensive two semester graphic illustration class.
In 1994 I decided to diversify and closed my Architectural Illustration business and started a multimedia company called SAVIAR. SAVIAR specialized in web development, CD-ROM development and video production. SAVIAR provided services for companies like National Geographic, Xerox and the International Banking Forum.
Take a look at some of my past work as an

Artists Statement
Coming into the abstract
For me the beauty of abstract art is its freedom to make a statement. Also, it is interesting to see the different reactions of people viewing the art. After being a commercial artist for so many years, you come to find that you are not being creative on your own terms. It is like being creative in a box...you are always constricted to some degree.
I started experimenting with absract art only a short time ago, but feel I have found my calling.
Basically I explore and learn new techniques as I paint. I look inside myself for inspiration. I see images or something that intrigues me and I explore it in my mind. I may try to get it onto paper, but it always evolves when I paint it. I don't like getting too wrapped up in a sketch. I find it may constrict my ability to create when I am painting.
Somtimes I use a brush, my hands, I'll throw paint or use other unconventional methods of applying paint. I love the freedom of expression my art allows me. It explores texture, movement, line, color and form. I like to use bold colors, tube raw colors or complementary combinations. I also have a passion for texture and paint applied very thickly.
My concept of art comes from within and can be inspired by a multitude of feelings. It also is an inner struggle: visualizing how something will look and actually painting it. Sometimes going through the experience of putting paint onto canvas radically different imagery appears that alters the original intent of the work. Often I create in the moment without much planning or forethought. It also pleases me when a person can see something that was not intended. In the art itself lives many visions. It is not preconceived as in traditional art or a representation of something. If you can find beauty in form, movement, light and color, my art is for you.
I have loved architecture most of my life and am influenced by many things including nature, Frank Lloyd Wright, Corbu, Renoir, Monet, Dali, and Jackson Pollock to name a few.
